\r The meaning of \"Tavan Tolgoi \" Five head was originated because of its landscape of five small hills located all together like five heads.\r \r In 1966, Tavan Tolgoi deposit was under the authority of The ministry of Industry of Mongolian government and was started with eight people in oder to explore 3000 ton of coal. The first chairmen were called Namhaidorj and S.Khuukhenjav.\r After 1967, Tavan tolgoi became an independent Industry of the Government and started to account of it. In December 5,1994 Tavan Tolgoi coalmine became Joint-Stock company because of the privatization of state properties. Now, \"Tavan Tolgoi\" coalmine is located in Tsogttsetsii soum of SouthGobi aimag in Mongolia, 550 km from the capital Ulaanbaatar.\r \r This deposit is not only the biggest deposits of Mongolia, it is one of the 10 biggest deposits in the World. The company has stabilized operation with total of 130 employees and it had exported one million tons of coal in 2007. \"Tavan Tolgoi\" coalmine has six billion tons of coal and two billion of them get coked. Thickness of the total coal is 191 metre and thickness of 16 layers of coal is 74.9 metre.\r \r \r \r \r \r \r
