Mongolia to Cooperate Closely with FIFA www.montsame.mn
President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa received Gianni Infantino, President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), on October 1, 2026.
President Khurelsukh noted that since Mongolia joined FIFA, the federation has actively supported and collaborated on the development of football in the country. He expressed gratitude to FIFA for increasing opportunities for children and youth to play the sport by establishing several facilities since 2015. These include the National Team Training Center and an indoor football pitch in Tuv aimag, a technical center with a full-standard football pitch in Shine Yarmag, and a 20x40 meter pitch at the 33rd School under the "FIFA Arena" project.
The two sides exchanged views on further expanding relations and cooperation, which will include jointly organizing a football cup tournament named after the President of Mongolia starting next year.
During his visit to Mongolia, President Gianni Infantino toured the national team training center and wished success to the Mongolian athletes who are competing in the FIFA U-15 World Cup for the first time.
