QSDC’s activities are divided into two pillars:• Quality Management• Supplier DevelopmentThe quality management pillar aims to enhance quality,awareness and skills of Mongolian professionals and businessesthrough the provision of targeted trainings. These trainingsare in line with international best practices and are designedto increase human capacity among all interested companiesin Mongolia. The training programs also assist local potentialsuppliers to meet the quality requirements of large enterprises,mining companies, and other potential buyers.QSDC offers the following training programs to prospectivebusinesses and Mongolian professionals:• ISO 14001:2004 Environmental management system• ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety management system• ISO 18001:2007 Health & Safety management system• 6 sigma Green Belt trainingTraining programs include basic, intermediate, and advancedlevel courses and are aligned with international training andcertification bodies. Training options will be expanded regularly.From December 2011 through June 2013, through a pilottraining program QSDC successfully trained and certified over280 professionals in the following areas:• ISO Standard 22000:2005 Food Safety managementsystem• Hygiene – Foundation level• HACCP – Intermediate level• Lead Auditor• Quality management/assurance manager andauditors – Advanced level• 6 sigma Green Belt trainingIn addition, QSDC can work with individual companies todeliver tailored training programs based on demand and need.Companies that actively participate in QSDC trainings are:• Oyu Tolgoi LLC• Centerra Gold LLC• CIS LLC• Nomin Holding• Nomads Chain of RestaurantsThrough the supplier development service, QSDC assistsfirms to forge sustainable relationships between buyersand suppliers across different industries in Mongolia QSDCworks directly with both buyers (large firms) and suppliersto facilitate real transactions by approaching buyers toidentify select procurement needs and service areas withthe potential to be supplied by local firms.Once opportunities are identified, QSDC will conduct a gapanalysis of bottlenecks that limit transactions and providetargeted technical assistance to address capacity, financialand/or quality issues. By focusing on individual transactions,QSDC supports increased sales and jobs within supplychains in Mongolia.Specifically, QSDC supports supplier development throughtechnical assistance, which focuses on increasing quantityand quality of production and subsequently increasingsales by:a.
