Shiveekhuren-Sekhe port to be connected by railway next month www.gogo.mn
S.Byambatsogt, Minister of Road and Transport Development, L.Khaltar, Deputy Minister of Road and Transport Development, and S.Batbold, Secretary-General, heads of departments of the Ministry and the heads of subordinate departments gave information about the projects and measures of the road transport sector included in the New Revival Policy at the session of the Parliament.
According to the information, the construction work of the 7.1 km Shiveekhuren-Sekhe railway began on May 27 of this year and will be completed by November.
On September 28, the Feasibility Study and Layout of Gashuunsukhait-Gantsmod border connecting railway was discussed and approved. It is planned to start construction of the border railway in 2024.
Before, Mongolia had only one railway export route to the south, Zamiin-Uud. And there will be 3 railway corridors connecting Mongolia and Asia-Europe, and five railway crossings which are Zamiin-Uud-Erlian, Gashuunsukhait-Gantsmod, Shiveekhuren-Sekhe, Bichigt-Zuunkhatavch, Khangi-Mandal.
