The Citizens’ Representative Khural of Ulaanbaatar approved a resolution amending the capital city’s 2026 budget during its extraordinary 10th session.
The budget revision includes adjustments aimed at ensuring the city’s financial stability and maintaining continuity in essential investments and social services. Funding for projects in engineering infrastructure, public transportation, and pollution reduction has been updated to reflect current conditions. Several major projects whose financing had not been fully resolved by the end of 2025 will be incorporated into the amended 2026 city budget and continued. These projects are directly linked to urban infrastructure, roads and transportation, urban planning, engineering utilities, and the policy of decentralization.
The second line of the “Ulaanbaatar Tram” project will run from Sukhbaatar Square to the Buyant-Ukhaa Sports Complex. A new subcenter complex will be constructed in Khan-Uul District, while heating supply pipeline works will be carried out in Songinokhairkhan District.
Continuing these projects is intended to reduce traffic congestion, curb air pollution, decentralize the city, and gradually modernize engineering infrastructure as part of the city’s broader development policy.
