President of Tajikistan to Pay State Visit to Mongolia www.montsame.mn
At the invitation of President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon will pay a State Visit to Mongolia from July 20 to 22, 2026.
The visit will mark the first state visit by the Tajikistan’s president to Mongolia in 17 years, following his previous visit in 2009. It also serves as a reciprocal visit following President Khurelsukh's state visit to Tajikistan in 2025.
During the visit, the two presidents will hold official talks on expanding bilateral cooperation in politics, trade, the economy, agriculture, energy, transport and culture. They will also exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
A Mongolia–Tajikistan Business Roundtable and cultural events are scheduled to be held on the sidelines of the visit.
Mongolia and Tajikistan established diplomatic relations on April 24, 1992.
During President Khurelsukh's state visit to Tajikistan in 2025, the two heads of state adopted the Joint Statement between Mongolia and the Republic of Tajikistan on Developing Friendly Relations and Multifaceted Cooperation.
In the joint statement, the two countries reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their longstanding friendly relations and expanding cooperation across a wide range of sectors, including politics, trade, the economy, industry, agriculture, renewable energy, transport and logistics, education, culture and tourism.
As part of the visit, the two sides signed 11 cooperation documents aimed at broadening bilateral ties in agriculture, transport, energy and tourism.
Under the auspices of the two presidents, the first Mongolia–Tajikistan Business Forum was held in Dushanbe. The visit also featured a morin khuur (horsehead fiddle) exhibition, a photography exhibition, and performances by artists from Mongolian Grand Theatre of National Art.
