Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On July 31, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry B.Batzorig received representatives headed by the Governor of Japan’s Shizuoka Prefecture Heita Kawakatsu. Minister B.Batzorig expressed his gratitude to Mr Heita Kawakatsu for making contribution to expanding ties and cooperation between the two countries.
In May 2014, the Ministry established a Memorandum of Cooperation with Shizuoka Prefecture. Under the Memorandum, Business Forum and trainings in crop farming are being conducted in Japan with the aim of encouraging bilateral business cooperation.
The Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry expressed willingness to further extend bilateral cooperation, saying that there are great cooperation possibilities including continuing the buckwheat farming in Dornogobi and Selenge aimags and supplying value-added agricultural products to the market of Japan. The sides also exchanged views on supporting cooperation between the SMEs and increasing the number of trainees.
At the end of the meeting the parties concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation for 2019 and agreed to deepen traditional relations and cooperation in food, agriculture and light industry sector.
