Japan gives training grant to Mongolian athletes for Tokyo Olympics www.news.mn
Mongolian athletes training for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics have received a grant of 50 million Mongolian Tugriks (US$ 18,750) from Japan.
The financial boost to support their training was handed over by Kawauchi Shiro, Japan’s Cultural Envoy to Mongolia, to Mongolia’s Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports, Yo.Baatarbileg, earlier this month.
The minister met the Japanese envoy to express gratitude for the promotion of Mongolian traditional culture and heritage in Japan and the development of baseball and judo in Mongolia as well as humanitarian works. During the meeting, Shiro handed over the grant of 50 million MNT.
This money will support athletes to take part in the 2020 Summer Olympics and Paralympics in Tokyo.
