New Russian jets dance in sky over Mongolia www.zgm.mn
Russia’s Su-30MKI jets which fascinated the world flew across Mongolian blue sky on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Khalkh River Battle, displaying airshow. President of Mongolia Battulga Khaltmaa also visited Khui Doloon Khudag, where the air performance took place.
Also, the Alexandrov Ensemble, an official army choir of the Russian armed forces, performed at the Central Square of the capital city.
The Sukhoi Su-30 is a twin-engine, two-seat supermaneuverable fighter aircraft developed in the Soviet Union by Russia’s Sukhoi Aviation Corporation. It is a multirole fighter for all-weather, air-to-air and air-tosurface deep interdiction missions.
In the meantime, Minister of Defense Enkhbold Nyamaa received delegates headed by First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Major General A.Yu. Chaikov. While sharing views on bilateral defense and military relations and cooperation, the sides expressed delight at jointly celebrating the historic anniversary of the Victory of the Khalkh River Battle.
“We are thankful to the Russian Ministry of Defense on paying special attention to marking the historic victory by sending artists of Alexandrov Russian Army Song and Dance Ensemble and aerobatic demonstration team of the Russian Air Force to Mongolia,” said Mr. Enkhbold and awarded the representatives led by Major General A.Yu.Chaikov with medals dedicated to the anniversary of the Victory of Khalkh River Battle.
The 80th anniversary of the Battle of Khalkh River victory is one of the important events occurring in 2019. Mongolia has been celebrating the event of the Khalkh River Victory since 1969. Initially, the celebration was simple, and as the years went by, it expanded. The Soviet Union celebrated the victory of the Great Patriotic War in 1965 for the first time at the initiation of Leonid Ilyich.
