Mongolia has 425 ventilators available for COVID-19 health emergency www.montsame.mn
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. At its plenary session held last week, the parliament held a discussion on the general financing agreement for COVID-19 emergency response project between Mongolia and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The program aims to strengthen the response to the COVID-19 pandemic and reduce the economic, budgetary, and social impact of the pandemic on vulnerable groups.
During the parliamentary discussion, Minister of Health D.Sarangerel said that the government has been taking prompt and appropriate measures to protect the health of the population and in the case of surge of COVID-19 cases in Mongolia, a total of 425 ventilators are available nationwide. As informed by the minister, more than 70 ventilators and other necessary medical equipment have been recently purchased with the funding from ADB and the World Bank.
As informed by the Minister, more than 500 intensive care beds with 415 ventilators will be procured with the ADB financing.
