Mongolia to regulate use of security cameras www.news.mn
There is no specific law that regulates how to use security cameras in Mongolia. Therefore, the parliament is discussing a draft law on Individual Privacy which is to regulate recording audio and video footages.
The new regulation is aimed to protect a reasonable expectation of individual privacy. The reasonable expectation of privacy covers places that are assumed to be private. This includes bathrooms, changing rooms, shower areas, locker rooms, hotel rooms, and bedrooms.
The law will allow Mongolians to conduct security and surveillance measures using video recording cameras at any home or business, even in public, as long as they don’t violate those reasonable expectations.
The law can penalize anyone who breached individual privacy for criminal codes.
