Uzbekistan to increase meat supplies from Mongolia www.tashkenttimes.uz
Recently, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Alisher Turaev met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Batsumber Munkhzhin.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Alisher Turaev briefed the Mongolian side on the ongoing reforms in the country in the field of agriculture, the efforts aimed at introducing modern market mechanisms, develop management systems and increase export potential in this area.
Batsumber Munkhzhin, in turn, spoke about the state of agriculture in Mongolia and noted that animal husbandry was the most developed sector of the agrarian complex of the country, with about 70 million cattle and small cattle in Mongolia, of which about 35 million are sheep.
He also noted that today the mutual supply of goods is mainly carried out through land transportation, in connection with which he proposed to establish charter flights as a new corridor for trade between the countries.
As a result of the meeting, the following agreements were reached:
- increase the volume of food and agricultural products supplied to Mongolia from Uzbekistan;
- increase supplies of meat and meat products from Mongolia;
- the parties will form a list of Uzbek and Mongolian enterprises interested in cooperation in building up trade cooperation and joint projects;
- establish cooperation between the scientific departments of the two countries to transfer Uzbek experience in horticulture and the development of greenhouses.
