Mongolia Jan-Sep iron ore exports up 32.5% on yr www.sxcoal.com
Mongolia exported 4.24 million tonnes of iron ore in the first nine months of this year, rising 32.53% or 1.04 million tonnes from the previous year, showed the latest data from the Mongolian Customs General Administration (MCGA).
China remained the only destination of Mongolian iron ore exports in January-September.
The total export earnings increased by 11.02% on the year to $324 million during this period, data showed.
MCGA didn't release the specific figure for last month. Sxcoal calculated the exports at 580,700 tonnes based on the overall exports published by the customs authority, up by 7.54% or 40,700 tonnes year on year and 11.9% or 61,800 tonnes on the month.
The iron ore exports amounted to $37.28 million in September, with average price at $64.19/t, down $1.8/t from the year-ago level yet up $5.02/t from August, data showed.
