The Bank of Mongolia said Tuesday that its purchase of gold dropped by 14.2 percent in the first 11 months of 2025 compared with the same period last year.
The country's central bank has purchased a total of 13.6 tons of gold from legal entities and individuals in the January-November period.
As of November, the average price of gold purchased by the Bank of Mongolia was 467,367.93 Mongolian tugriks (131.5 U.S. dollars) per gram.
Purchasing gold is one of the key ways for the central bank to ensure the country's economic stability by consistently increasing foreign currency reserves, said the bank.
