The Mongolian National Olympic Committee has officially presented the ceremonial uniform for the country’s national team for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympic Games, hosted by Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
The ceremonial and casual uniforms were designed by Mongolia’s brand Goyol Cashmere. The attire is inspired by the clothing of the Great Mongol Empire, spanning the 13th to 15th centuries. The focus was not on mixing ethnic elements with contemporary design, but on reimagining ancient culture and its transition into a modern global context.
«Using Mongolian cashmere — long relied upon by our nomadic people to endure harsh winters — we have created ceremonial deels [traditional Mongolian garment; ed. note] that honor traditional history and culture, alongside premium cashmere-knit casual ensembles inspired by alpine ski sweaters rooted in Western mountain culture, enriched with motifs of the Mongolian ger [traditional dwelling; ed. note] and nomadic life,» the caption read.
The presentation on social media is accompanied by the slogan:
«What We Carried Through Winter — We Carry to the World.»
The collection has already generated significant buzz online. Users have highlighted its authenticity and strong national identity, emphasizing Mongolian character on the world sports stage.
This is not the first time Mongolia’s Olympic uniform has drawn attention. Previously, the uniforms of Mongolian athletes for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris caused a stir and received recognition among fashion enthusiasts. International reviews praised the design as one of the most interesting Olympic outfits, noting how it effectively combined national flavor with modern trends.
