Mom's Touch has opened its 20th store in Mongolia, rising to become the country's second-largest quick service restaurant (QSR) brand by number of stores.

The company said on the 27th that it had opened its 20th store, "Nomin Macro," in Mongolia.

The milestone comes about two years and 10 months after Mom's Touch opened its first store, "Emart Bayangol," in downtown Ulaanbaatar in September 2023. Mom's Touch now holds the most stores after KFC, which currently operates 29 locations. Since entering Mongolia in 2023, Mom's Touch has opened an average of 6.2 stores per year, recording the fastest growth in the local QSR market. That figure far exceeds local KFC (2.4 stores) and Burger King (1.8 stores).

The company attributed the success to the competitiveness of its QSR platform, which offers burgers, chicken, and pizza at specialty-shop levels of taste and quality within a single store. Unlike major local competitors, the ability to enjoy a variety of menu items in one place has served as a differentiating factor, driving both repeat visits from local customers and the inflow of new customers, the company explained.

Mom's Touch plans to continue expanding its stores. It will open its 21st store next month and has set a goal of increasing the number to 25 stores within the year. Through this, the company aims to become the QSR brand with the largest number of stores by the end of next year.

"Mongolia is a young country, with more than 60% of its population under the age of 35, and has high interest in K-food and a strong openness to foreign culture, giving it great growth potential in the dining market," a Mom's Touch official said. "Through the stable logistics supply infrastructure of our partner company, which operates the only poultry farm in Mongolia, we provide a QSR platform experience where customers can enjoy burgers, chicken, and pizza made with fresh chicken in one store, just as in Korea, and we are receiving a strong response from local customers."
