Presidential candidate nomination dates fixed www.montsame.mn
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The nomination of presidential candidates for the upcoming Presidential Election will take place on May 2-6, in compliance with the Law of Mongolia on Election which regulates that nomination of presidential candidates will begin 55 days prior to election day and end 5 days prior to the election day.
Parties and coalitions eligible to nominate a candidate for the Presidential Election must submit the necessary documents and files to General Election Commission in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations. Within 3 days of receiving the document, the General Election Commission issues a resolution on whether or not the candidate is registered. And within 3 working days, names of all registered candidates will be announced to public.
In connection with the Presidential Election which is to take place on June 26, internal migration is to be halted starting from April 27 to June 27, as the law states that migration must be suspended 60 days prior to the election day.
