35th coronavirus case recorded in Mongolia www.montsame.mn
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The National Center of Communicable Diseases (NCCD) today reported that 35th confirmed coronavirus case recorded in Mongolia.
Yesterday, on April 21, a driver of freight vehicle who arrived from the Russian Federation tested positive for coronavirus. His wife, who is a co-driver in the same vehicle with the patient and traveled together to Europe with him, was also diagnosed with coronavirus after tests were carried out on 24 people, who have been identified as having had close contact with the driver.
The team drivers of husband and wife departed to Budapest, Hungary through the Russian Federation on February 21 this year and returned home on April 18. Upon their arrival in Mongolia, they were immediately placed in quarantine and his wife has tested positive for coronavirus as a result of the repeated testing.
Coronavirus testing was carried out on 330 people yesterday at two laboratories of the NCCD. 288 passengers, who arrived on chartered flight from Seoul on April 8, have tested negative by the repeated testing.
Out of 35 coronavirus cases recorded in Mongolia, 8 people have recovered and 27 people are undergoing treatment. The NCCD warns people to follow guidance given by the World Health Organization, to wear face masks and gloves and to remain vigilant.
