IAAC seeks to charge former Ulaanbaatar Mayor Kh.Nyambaatar www.gogo.mn
The Independent Authority Against Corruption (IAAC) has opened a case against Kh. Nyambaatar, former Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, formally named him as a suspect in the investigation.
He has been charged under Article 22.1 of the Criminal Code, which covers the offense of abuse of power or official position.
During Nyambaatar's tenure as Capital City Governor, T. Davaadalai, First Deputy Governor in charge of Economic Development and Infrastructure, was arrested last April and investigated over allegations of a conflict of interest concerning major infrastructure projects implemented in the capital.
The IAAC has completed its investigation into T.Davaadalai’s case and referred it to the court.
