As part of his official visit to Japan, Uchral Nyam-Osor, Prime Minister of Mongolia,  paid a courtesy call on Eisuke Mori, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan, on September 29, and exchanged views on bilateral relations and interparliamentary cooperation.

Prime Minister Uchral expressed Mongolia’s commitment to further strengthening friendly relations with Japan, an important “third neighbor” and close partner of Mongolia. He also highlighted his satisfaction that bilateral relations and cooperation have continued to expand to the level of a Special Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity.

He expressed gratitude to the Parliament, Government and people of Japan for their longstanding and consistent support for Mongolia’s democratic, social and economic development, and underscored the importance of further intensifying interparliamentary relations and cooperation between the friendship groups of the two countries.

The Prime Minister also expressed his commitment to expanding trade and investment cooperation, increasing the benefits of the Mongolia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement, boosting Mongolia’s exports, and attracting more Japanese investment, technology and know-how to Mongolia.

Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan Mori noted that friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries have developed steadily. He also expressed his commitment to further strengthening interparliamentary relations, reciprocal visits and cooperation between the friendship groups.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on further expanding and developing Mongolia-Japan relations and cooperation, promoting interparliamentary exchanges, and increasing trade and investment cooperation. They also discussed plans to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Japan next year on a large scale.
