The ceremony for the "Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards 2026," one of the tourism industry’s prestigious awards, was held in London, United Kingdom, on November 4, during "WTM London," a leading global travel trade event.

Mongolia ranked seventh among the top 10 countries in the “Most Desirable Emerging Destination” category, which recognizes emerging destinations attracting strong interest from travelers. According to the Tourism Professional Association, the recognition reflects growing international interest in Mongolia’s unique natural landscapes, nomadic culture, history, traditions and distinctive travel experiences.

Established 25 years ago, the “Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards” are based on votes cast by readers of Wanderlust magazine and recognize the destinations, tour operators and leading brands in the tourism industry that travelers most want to visit and experience.

As of October this year, Mongolia had welcomed approximately 930,000 tourists. More than 310,000 visitors came from Russia, 225,000 from China, around 140,000 from South Korea, over 40,000 from Japan and approximately 20,000 from the United States.
