Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Chief offer at the ASEM L.Orgil has delivered a report on the course of the 11th ASEM Summit underway in Ulaanbaatar, at the Summit’s press center.
Prior to commencing the Summit, participants stayed silence for a minute, extending condolences to France and its people on loss of many lives in a terrorist attack happened last night, said Orgil beginning his report.
Ts.Elbegdorj, the President of Mongolia made the opening remarks as the host. It was followed by speeches given by U Htin Kyaw, the President of Myanmar; Robert Fico, the Prime Minister of Slovakia; and Murray McCully, the Foreign Minister of New Zealand. Furthermore, chairs of the sideline meetings of the ASEM Summit presented outcomes and conclusions of the events, while M.Enkhbold, Speaker of Mongolian parliament sounded a conclusion of the 9th Parliamentary Partnership Meeting (ASEP9) held last April in Ulaanbaatar.
Starting the Summit, the very first speech was given by Park Geun-hye, the President of the Republic of Korea, being followed by speeches of Shinzo Abe, the Prime Minister of Japan; Li Keqiang, the Premier of the State Council of China; and Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
The representatives highly acknolweledged a role of the ASEM that is serving for 20 years as a bridge between the continents. Views are exchanged on identifying cooperation goals for next decade. The participants are also discussing the connectivity between Asia and Europe and ways of enhancing the future inter-continental cooperation based on three directions--politics, economy and society.
